Welcome to Dr. Ge Zheng's Website
I am currently a Research Associate (RA) working with Professor Alexandra Brintrup, who leads the Supply Chain Artificial Intelligence Lab (SCAIL) at the Institute for Manufacturing (IfM) in the Department of Engineering at the University of Cambridge. My work focuses on two main initiatives: the COREs project and the Vax project. The COREs project aims to develop collective learning algorithms—such as Federated Learning (FL)—to enhance Supply Chain Risk Management (SCRM). This approach allows partners to share valuable insights while preserving privacy and data security. The Vax project aims to apply artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques to optimise vaccine supply chains, supporting novel vaccine manufacturing technologies and advancing economic and simulation modelling for strategic decision-making.
Before joining Cambridge, I completed my PhD in the Department of Computing and Informatics at the University of Bournemouth under the guidance of Associate Professor Wei Koong Chai and Professor Vasilis Katos. My doctoral research focused on using deep learning to predict traffic states in urban transport networks. Prior to my PhD, I earned a Master’s degree in Electronic Engineering at the University of Essex, where I developed a machine learning algorithm for a wearable device to detect falls in older adults.
More broadly, I am passionate about integrating AI-driven solutions into diverse fields—including supply chain management, pattern recognition, intelligent transportation systems, and healthcare—to help streamline operations, mitigate risk, and improve outcomes.
Here, you will find information about my teaching, publications, academic activities, and blog posts related to AI, machine learning, and supply chain research.
